Mermaid Inspired Beauty Trends

"Totally mermaid-worthy,  these top five trends are all we wanna see on you this year".

Totally mermaid-worthy,  these top five trends are all we wanna see on you this year.  Indulge in the play of pastels and soft tones fused with shimmery colours and textures this season. Hopefully it will make your Summer-feels last a little bit longer too.

Coral-Inspired Eye Make-Up: These gorgeous coral lids were seen at Bora Aksu‘s latest runway show. We love the soft blend of colour paired with natural brows. Try an eyeshadow with a rich pigment and a slight shimmer. Take extra care of your blending techniques, as you don’t want to take the colour too far off the lid.

The Wet Look: Just like a mermaid. Pringle Scotland sent models down the runway with the often criticised wet-look. Not sure you’re ready to try it at work or out on date night? Try it at home on a pool day. You’ll love it!

Whispy Braids: Magical, whispy braids are just perfect for late summer nights. The almost messy braid is soft and feminine. Antonio Berardi fused these braids with thick textures in his Autumn Winter collection last season. You can fuel you mermaid mojo with these braids from Summer until next Spring.

Princess Of The Deep: There can totally be drama down under. The super rouge lip is sticking around this season and we love it for its sass. Pair a great red lip with a soft cat-eye and naturally dried hair. Add texture to your locks by incorporating a volume-boosting serum before styling.

Coloured Eyebrows: We’re so glad this alternative look from the 90s is making a comeback on the runway. Over the last few years, we’ve been seeing it a lot in street style culture and our make up artist friends have been rocking it for years! We were ecstatic when we saw Central Saint Martins’ models introduce the look down the runway again. Experiment with light pigments and as you get more comfortable – be bold, baby!
