Top Festive Season Beauty Trends

Yea, we know, your inboxes are filling up with party invites all over the place – its party season after all. With so much going on and with festive cheer pretty much in full swing, we chose our top trends to experiment with over the holidays. These are our favorites.

Golden Eye: A gold-dusted eyelid over the holidays is a sexy and timeless way to enhance your eyes. Gold is gracious to many skin tones, which makes it really versatile. Prep your eyes with a great primer and neutralizing powder. Play with a base color in earthy tones – anything from brown and black to green and rooty reds can work. Add a high-pigment gold dust by gently pressing the powder onto the center of your lids. Blend it out and pair it with a nude lip.

Glitter Lips: This trend has come up many times in our beauty trend forecasts and it is a super fun addition to any party season look. We love glitter on our lips, we love it on our bodies and we love it in our hair. Choose your favorite MAC lipstick and line your lips with a color that is a shade or two darker. Gently press the glitter onto your lips with a lip brush and use the liner as a guide to keep it smudge free.

Messed Up: It’s the holiday season and salt water, late nights and dry air can take its toll on your hair. We’re using it as inspiration this season. After a moisturizing wash – treat your hair with a leave-in spritz conditioner and let it dry freely. Curly locks are the best for this trend!

Gilded Contours: Whether you’re defining or reflecting, contouring and highlighting is a great way to give your face an instant lift. Watch this great tutorial by the lovely PixiWoo sisters to wax your skills.

Slick, Kid: Ok, besides the fact that it looks totally cool – clear nails are just so perfect for the holiday season. Ask your nail tech to hit those creepers with her best skills, because it’s not the easiest to do! The clarity allows for a lot of creativity, but we prefer it paired with a monochrome palette and simple geometric lines.
