We could not be happier that it’s officially party season. It’s by far our favourite time of year and for obvious reasons. From fancy cocktails at the Westcliff (coincidentally where we’ll be tonight for the UN Refugee Agency’s cocktail party) and late nights, to twinkling lights and shimmers around every corner, who would not want to take inspiration from the season?! Party dresses are by far the best part and here are our favourite ways to style it.
The Classic LBD: You can never go wrong with a classic Little Black Dress. We absolutely adore the LBD in a contemporary cut with a soft and sophisticated fabric. Pair it with a nude pump and add a textured clutch for a great contrast.
Midnight Glamour: Nothing beats a sequined number over party season. We love it mixed up with contrasting textures like this leather jacket below. Keep your make up classic and sophisticated with lightly-dusted lids, long, strong lashes and a great red lip. Style your dress with high-heeled strappy sandals and a matching clutch.
Colour Pop: Just what you need for the festive season! It’s Summer after all, so experiment with bright colours in soft flowing fabrics. Pair a bright slip dress with detailed tribal jewellery and heels to match. We love these sparkly boots with a midi slip, but would totally try a mini slip dress with thigh-high boots for the ultimate party look.
Well Suited: Ok, so the headline says party dresses, we know… But a great look this season is a fancy AF suit. Go for metallic or sequined detailed suits, and pair it with lacy blouses or ultra-feminine camisoles. Throw on a great pair of embellished heels and you’re good to go!
Summer In The City: The parties start early and what’s better than pulling off that whole “easy breezy cover girl” thing. A graphic shirt looks on-trend with a midi and matching strappy sandals. Go for a great patterned or striped midi with a barely-there slit. Grab your favourite bucket bag and be prepared to carry everyone’s cardi’s for the rest of the night – at least you’ll look cute doing it!
