Street Style Trends For Spring

"Packing away your chunky knits and oversized coats will be a blissful exercise over the next few weeks".

You can feel it can’t you!? Spring has turned her gorgeous face and we’re so ready for it. Packing away your chunky knits and oversized coats will be a blissful exercise over the next few weeks, and replacing them with floral maxi’s, dandy sandals and denim mini’s will be so much more than just satisfying. Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) wrapped just over two week ago, with local collections that totally embraced the trends for Spring. Here are our favorite street-style trends to try this season.

The Moody Floral: Deep, dark colours in a floral print are not only a chic way to wear your maxi, but a great choice when opting to wear it for an evening event. Style it with a clutch in a solid colour, minimal jewellery and flat, strappy sandals.

Denim With A Slida On the Side: Nothing beats your fav denim and a traditional pair of sliders in Spring. It looks great styled with a graphic T and your favourite sunnies. Accessorize with a great shoulder bag to pull the look together.

Pink Bottoms: Orapeleng Modutle and Leapordfrock by Marianne Fassler both had wonderfully designed pink pieces in their latest SS17 collections. We love a bright pink midi paired with a crop as pictured below, or a full flair skirt coupled with a pussy bow blouse or a with a textured mesh top.

So Meshed Up: Mesh was everywhere at MBFW SS17. We saw it in collections by TN Collectiv,  Stefania Morland and Spero Villioti. We loved TN Collective‘s interpretations the most (what a skilled designer), but we totally love a dark hued mesh too. Experiment with different pieces and style it with a great tote and your favourite kicks for a fun take on the trend.

Cropped Up: Nothing beats a cosy crop in a heavily textured textile – the little fabric can totally do with the added details. It looks super sophisticated in white and nude tones paired with a low waisted flair or maxi skirt. Adama Paris rocked a SS collection bursting with textured whites at MBFW.
