Whoa! It’s been a while, but man-oh-man am I feeling myself!? I’m so excited to share our latest trend report from New York Fashion Week with you. Now that all the hype surrounding the notorious event has settled, we, the trend reporters can take our time going though all the best shows from New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and share what we think is going to be killer this season. Let’s go!
Limited Pastels: If you look at our Instagram feed, you’ll know how much we love these colours! Soft pinks, sea greens and muted yellows are the stars in our colour palette right now. Miu Miu and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi seemed to think the same! Preen by Thornton Bregazzi was without a doubt our favourite collection.
Like Pearls: A shimmering wave of textile delights hit us when we looked at Sies Marjan‘s collection from NYFW. A sophisticated and classic collection with muted tones in silks and satins. Leonard also showcased similar textures in their collection, confirming that shimmering fabrics are here to stay.
80s: A very over the top 80s flashback was seen at Dolce & Gabanna and Gucci’s shows. We love the textures of the fabrics used to create a rather contemporary 80s collection for both designers. You’re either going love it or hate it, but the rock and roll undertones had us very curious in D&G‘s collection.
All-Over Sequins: Bitch, it’s still a thing! Monse and Alexander Wang showed amazing, all-over sequinned ensembles at New York Fashion Week that totally secured this trend for at least another six dazzling months.
Pattern Clashes: Not for everyone, but if you have enough gumption and fashion sass to pull it off – go for it. We love how Gypsy Sport and Altuzarra styled these looks at NYFW. We will definitely post a How To Style post on this one!
Comfort First: Probably our favourite trend from fashion week. With subtle athleisure vibes, the comfy look is great for day-time errand running and lunch with pals. The Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger shows solidified the trend this season, so get comfy and look stylish doing it!
