Choose a fabric or colour that really stands out. You can even go with a printed midi. It is the statement piece after all, so don’t shy away from bold colours. Keep in mind that when you experiment with prints, they don’t have to be the same, but try to have a colour you repeat throughout your mix and match play.

Go for a pleated midi in soft tones for a feminine look. Pair it with a great sweater or pussy-bow blouse and add some pretty girly jewellery. A great pair of pumps will bring your outfit together.

Try a fitted midi pencil skirt for a night out with the girls or when you want to look more vampy. It goes great with a statement jacket, bomber or even some of your best furs. Pair it with a killer tote and angled cat-eye sunnies.

Show off some cute socks. You can wear bobby socks with a cute frill or a graphic print if you want, or knee-highs for colder weather. Pair them with pumps that match your skirt or handbag. If you’re not in the mood for heels, try it with some great flats.

Black is better. Not in the mood for prints and frills? Then go with a sleek, all-black ensemble. You can go from day-to-night by just changing your shoes and swapping your shoulder bag for a clutch.
