It’s très important to have your things organised before fashion week, because many of us will be dashing from other jobs to get to fashion week on time, hoping we still look pulled together before showtime. In order to prepare, here is a checklist to help you stay organised and transition easily from one day to the next during SA Fashion Week. Follow me on Twitter for live tweets and SAFW updates from today!
Smartphone: An obvious one, but if you are active on social media, you need your smartphone to snap quick pics and short video clips to share on your social platforms. For safety, pack your portable charger too. With all the live tweeting and snapping, your phone will without a doubt run out of battery power.
Sneakers: Feet get tired. It’s just the way it is when you’ve been on high heels all day. Your best solution is a great pair of sneakers. Right now, Nike, Puma, New Balance and Adidas are hot! Get yourself a pair to give your feet a break during shows.
Make Up Touch-Up Kit: It can get hot inside. Let’s just keep it at that. You’ll want your kit near by to make sure your look is still on fleek! Bring the basics; a compact with a mirror and lipstick/gloss.
Outfits: A good start is to plan your outfits according to your personal style, whilst experimenting with some current trends. Some trends to play around with this week are floral prints, monochrome looks, sequins, novelty socks, graphic T’s and bomber jackets.
Nailpolish / Killer Manicure: Nails are important, especially if there are any nail cams around wanting to see what you did with your claws. I’m all for long nails and fun designs, but if it’s not your style, rather opt for a clean looking mani with one-tone colour.
Camera: At least the SA Fashion Week team make it easy for media representatives and bloggers to get their hands on great images, but sometimes you just want your own, so you can play around and re-image them for your publication or blog. Here is a list of great entry-level cameras.
