Video art and aesthetics have created visual journeys very different to photographs and even live events. With digital manipulation and editing skills, filmmakers and editors create videos that can give you a completely different experience to any other. In fashion, videos have become very popular over the last few years, due to the influx of visual artists entering the fashion industry. The good thing about this is that artists are creating new and exciting ways to look at fashion. We can see close-up frames of garments, hair and make-up, landscape frames of how fashion fits in an environment conceptually, as well as distortions and effects that create fashionable art that appeals to many creatives in the industry.
Here are some of my favourite conceptual fashion videos for the SS16 season:
Maryam Nassir Zadeh: Spring 2016
Apiece Apart: Spring 2016
A.W.A.K.E.: Spring 2016
Objects Without Meaning: Spring 2016
