Fashion Guide: Art Week JHB

Art Week Joburg officially opened on Saturday, 5 September and is the equivalent of Fashion Week if you are an artist, curator, buyer, art writer or general art enthusiast. It’s a wonderful week filled with some of the best exhibitions around Johannesburg. You can view some of the highlighted shows this week on my Facebook page!  I’ve selected some great outfit inspirations for the next few days so you can look stylish on your gallery explorations around one of the trendiest cities in the world.

Keep it simple with a white T and fabulous shoes! The sunnies are a given when going from gallery to gallery!

Tuesday
Tuesday. It will be a busy day in Rosebank from 4pm onwards, so dress so you can easily go from day to night. Some pearls, and a great Spring jacket is all you need to accessorise this look.

The Johannesburg Art Gallery is such a stylish place. Keep it cool with a flowing floral skirt and clutch.
Wednesday – The Johannesburg Art Gallery is such a stylish place. Keep it cool with a flowing floral skirt and clutch. (No shows on Thursday)

Friday
Friday also brings the JHB Art Fair at Sandton City. If you’re going to see potential clients, go for a timeless look. Your grey and black hues are best. Make the outfit pop with a bright clutch or bright shoes and sunnnies.

Saturday
Braamfontein and Newtown will be on fire on Saturday, so dress the part. It’s also a very trendy part of town, so keep your look effortless, but stylin’. Nudes and graphic Ts are the way to go for a busy day that could turn in to a busy night!

Sunday
Sunday brings us the last day of JHB Art Week. It’s going to be a long day in Maboneng, so dress comfortably. Throw on some on-trend denim with peep toe booties and enjoy your Sunday immersed in art.
